Alina Bialkowski is currently completing her PhD in the area of Knowledge Discovery from Vision Data at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Australia, where she received a B. Eng. in Electrical Engineering with Honors in 2009. During her doctoral studies, she has undertaken research internships with Disney Research Pittsburgh where she worked with the computer vision team to develop algorithms and tools to automatically monitor and analyze team sports. Her primary research interest lies in representing, discovering and visualizing patterns from large data sets, and is currently working on novel approaches to better model humans and their behaviors in sports and intelligent surveillance domains.
