Steve Pagliuca is the Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and Founder of PagsGroup, a multi asset class investment firm focused on biotech, tech, and high growth companies. He is the former Co Chairman of Bain Capital, a leading global investment firm with approximately $160 billion in assets under management and is currently a Senior Advisor to the firm.
Mr. Pagliuca is a Co-owner and Managing General Partner of the world champion Boston Celtics. As managing general partner and chairman of the Basketball Committee, he has focused on the development and improvement of basketball operations. He is also Co-owner and Co-chairman of the Serie A professional football club, Atalanta Bergamasca Calcio based in Bergamo, Lombardy, Italy.
With a focus on helping children in need, Mr. Pagliuca has been recognized for his many significant philanthropic efforts and contributions to numerous philanthropic causes. He is the Co-founder and President of the Boston Celtics Shamrock Foundation and the Boston Celtics United for Social Justice. The Pagliuca Family Foundation has also donated the Pagliuca Life Lab to Harvard University so that any student wanting to start biotech businesses could utilize state of the art facilities on campus. To date, there have been over 60 new biotech ventures that have come out of the Pagliuca Life Lab. Steve also led the effort to build the Bill Russell statue, now standing in Boston’s City Hall plaza, to commemorate Bill’s dedication to equality and civil rights globally.
Mr. Pagliuca has been active in the area of public policy and is a former candidate for the U.S. Senate. He is a frequent contributor on television, radio/podcasts and print media to provide commentary focusing on global economic issues. Steve serves on the Board of Trustees at Duke University and Eisenhower Fellowships. He received a B.A. from Duke University in 1977 and an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School in 1982.
