Sports analytics focuses on new ways to create and slice data, like that found on the back of an athlete’s trading card. Aaronson focuses on understanding the front of the card – who the person is and creating a comprehensive framework for if, why, and how a player can be successful in a given environment. This talk reviews how machine learning platform can integrate with an organization’s internal models and technology, maximizing scouting reports, eliminating subjective assessments, prescriptively readying resources, and increasing the probability of success.
