Founder, BrooksBaseball. net; Author, Baseball Prospectus Dan Brooks is an experimental psychologist who received his Ph. D. in Behavioral and Cognitive Neuroscience from the University of Iowa. He previously has investigated the psychological processes of categorization, perception, and anticipation; he currently studies and teaches cognitive psychology at Tufts University. Brooksis also the founder and lead developer of BrooksBaseball. net, a pitch tracking resource; an author of Baseball Prospectus, a leading sabermetric publication; and the Lead Scientist at Pitch Info, a company that specializes in assisting major league teams and media outlets interpret and understand pitch tracking data. His website, BrooksBaseball. net, has become the industry standard for detailed analysis of pitch tracking data; it is used daily by fans, journalists, scouts, and MLB Front Office executives. Brooksalso co-organizes "Sabermetrics, Scouting, and the Science of Baseball", a Boston-based charity conference for the benefit of the Jimmy Fund.
