James is GM of the Intel Sports Group. As GM, he leads the division's mission to pioneer the digitization of sports by driving the next wave of powerful technologies that will transform the sports experience for fans, athletes and coaches. Before assuming his role as head of the group in 2016, James advanced through the Intel Accelerated Leadership Program, working rotations in the Mobile Communications Group, Team Google and Software Defined Networks. Most recently, James served as Strategic Program Manager and Technical Assistant to Intel CEO Brian Krzanich. Prior to joining Intel, James began his career as a principal engineer at Newport Media. James holds a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering and Master of Science in electrical engineering-embedded computing systems from the University of California, Los Angeles. In 2013, Carwana earned his MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management.
