Joel Shapiro, JD, PhD, is a professor in the Managerial Economics and Decision Sciences department at Northwestern University�s Kellogg School of Management, where he teaches MBA and executive programs on analytics, AI, and data leadership. He leads Kellogg�s very popular Analytical Consulting Lab, helping students solve real-world data challenges, and recently launched a new MBA course on what makes a great data leader. He also works with sales and revenue leaders in Turning Data into Revenue, an executive program on leveraging analytics for smarter decisions, and teaches aspiring data scientists in Northwestern�s MS in Machine Learning and Data Science program at the McCormick School of Engineering. Before returning full-time to academia, Joel spent five years as Chief Analytics Officer at a fast-growing sales software company, helping lead the development of AI-driven solutions. He now advises multiple companies, including Origin Digital, a technology consultancy, and Probility AI, a cutting-edge sports AI startup. His research explores how analytics and AI can improve athlete performance and team success. Joel enjoys tackling tough business problems, spending time outside with his dogs, and a good round of golf.
