Associate Professor of Statistics, St. Lawrence UniversityCo-founder, Statistical Sports Consulting @SchuckersM Schuckers co-founded Statistical Sports Consulting, LLC ( @EmpiricalSports ) and his work on hockey analytics has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, ESPN The Magazine, The Vancouver Sun and The Hockey News. He has consulted for sports organizations including a major league baseball team as well as for the U. S. Department of Defense. An applied statistician with degrees from Penn State, Michigan and Iowa State, he is the author of over two dozen published papers including the 2010 book Computational Methods in Biometric Authentication: Statistical Methods for Performance Evaluation (Springer). His work in biometric identification has been funded by the US Department of Homeland Security, the US Department of Defense, the National Science Foundation and the Center for Identification Technology Research (CITeR). Currently he is Associate Editor for the Journal of Quantitative Analysis in Sports. He lives in Canton, NY with his wife, Stephanie, and their three kids: Daniel, 12, Christopher, 9, and Gabriella, 7.
