Diagnosed with scoliosis at age 11, Stacy Lewis wore a back brace for over six years. After surgery that fused a metal rod and screws into her spine, she faced nine months of rehab before returning to golf. She made the Arkansas golf team and won the NCAA individual championship just two years later. On the LPGA Tour, Stacy won her first major in 2011, and in 2012, she became the first American in 18 years to win Player of the Year.By 2013, Stacy reached the pinnacle of golf, ascending to the world number one ranking. With three wins that season, she also claimed the Vare Trophy for the lowest scoring average on tour, marking the first time in 19 years an American had won that honor.With 13 LPGA victories, over 100 top-10 finishes, four Solheim Cup appearances, and a T4 finish at the 2016 Rio Olympics, Stacy’s career is already one of the most remarkable in LPGA history. Her leadership continued as she served as Assistant Captain of Team USA in the 2021 Solheim Cup, and as Captain in 2023 and 2024.
