Analytics Specialist, ESPN Stats & Information Group After earning a Bachelor's degree in Economics and a Master's degree in Statistical Computing from the University of Central Florida, Albert Larcada moved to Bristol, CT to join ESPN's Stats & Information group. After one year in the Stats & Analysis department he joined the newly formed Production Analytics team. During this time he helped create ESPN's Total Quarterback Rating (QBR) and the Basketball Power Index (BPI), along with several other analytics projects across numerous sports. He has also researched and written extensively on European soccer for ESPN. com and ESPN the Magazine while maintaining and improving ESPN's Soccer Power Index (SPI) - originally developed by Fivethirtyeight. com creator Nate Silver. Along with his analytics and soccer writing duties for ESPN, Albert is an adjunct instructor at Quinnipiac University, teaching graduate sports journalism students how to better use statistics, analytics, and data visualization in their work.
