COO, J.P. Morgan's Asset & Wealth Management
Benjamin (Ben) Hesse is Chief Operating Officer for J.P. Morgan's Asset & Wealth Management line of business. In this role, he oversees AWM’s Data, Product, Strategy & Business Development initiatives. Hesse is a member of the Asset & Wealth Management Operating Committee, the Asset Management Operating Committee and the Global Private Bank Operating Committee.
From 1Q20 to 4Q21, Hesse was Head of Strategy & Business Development for Asset & Wealth Management. Previously, he was a Portfolio Manager and Investment Team Head for J.P. Morgan Asset Management's Global Alternatives business, where he focused on the financial sector.
Prior to joining the firm in 2014, Hesse spent nine years at Fidelity Management & Research in Boston, where he was Head of Global Financials Equity Research. At Fidelity, he managed a 15-person global research team and seven sector portfolios with more than $3 billion in assets. He also directed Fidelity’s overall positioning in global financials stocks. In this capacity, he represented one of J.P. Morgan’s largest institutional shareholders.
Hesse has a master's degree in business administration from Columbia Business School, and a master's degree in Economics from New York University. He earned his bachelor's degree in Finance from Michigan State University.
