Co-Founder DataGolf
Matt Courchene co-founded the website “Data Golf” in the summer of 2016 with his brother, Will. A project born out of the brothers’ passion for the game, the site’s original form was as a simple blog, offering a different perspective to golf fans through the use of data and statistics. Data Golf now provides a wide range of content at the intersection of golf and analytics, including projections and probabilistic forecasts for fantasy golf and betting, interactive data visualizations, and predictive models that update in real-time throughout tournaments. The site’s overarching goal is to provide insightful analysis for statistically-inclined golf fans and sports bettors, while remaining accessible to casual readers.
Matt is a lifelong golfer and sports fan. He is currently completing a PhD in economics at the University of British Columbia.
