For over eleven years at FC Barcelona, Raúl was Head of Analytics, Technology, and Innovation, overseeing all club video analysts and data scientists. He played a key role in positioning Barça as a global reference in soccer analytics, leading groundbreaking research in collaboration with top scientists. He was also a driving force and co-founder of the Barça Innovation Hub, an initiative that redefined the integration of science and technology in sports performance.
As part of the professional men’s first-team staff for over five years, Raúl implemented cutting-edge innovations in soccer analytics, working alongside some of the greatest players, coaches, and technical staff, applying advanced technologies that directly influenced performance.
Before Barça, he spent over a decade at RCD Espanyol and twelve years in Hewlett-Packard’s R&D department, developing an innovative mindset that he later brought into soccer. Currently, as Director of Sports Data at Kynisca, the first multi-team global organization dedicated to professionalizing women’s soccer, Raúl is leading a game-changing initiative that will redefine how soccer is analyzed, understood, and how decisions are made. He also manages Kynisca’s global data ecosystem, ensuring an integrated, forward-thinking approach that will shape the future of the game.
